The Land of Me will work on both a PC and a Mac. Once downloaded or installed, you don't need an
internet connection for it to work. When downloading individual chapters you'll find the filesize is
quite large (approx 150mb) which can take a while (average 15-20 minutes) depending on the speed of
your internet connection.
If you bought your computer in the last few years you should be fine. For those of you who want
something a little more precise you'll find the technical specifications here.

Who made The Land of Me and how do I know it's good for my children?
The Land of Me has been developed over a 2 year period with a team of early learning experts
headed by Dr. John Siraj-Blatchford (the Prof), an honorary Professor at the University of Swansea
Centre for Child Research, with 20 years experience, he is highly respected and he knows his stuff.
Every step of the way this team has been researching and testing The Land of Me with over 50 early years settings across the UK. Working closely with these schools and collaborating closely with loads of parents has ensured that The Land of Me can be trusted to gently encourage playful, safe, creative learning for the early years. What age is it safe to let my children play on the computer?
People understandably worry about children spending too much time on computers. But there's
nothing fundamentally bad about computers. In fact, they offer the flexibility to be great creative
learning environments for pre-schoolers. Where else can children create animals, buildings, boats,
songs, dances, masks and more, all in one place?
The Land of Me helps parents to engage their children in rich, positive interactions thanks to a steady stream of creative ideas and questions to ask children during play. Research studies show that playing with your child and encouraging them to be creative is fantastic for their early years development. The Land of Me is the first early years product that purposefully helps you with this.
As with all the fundamental elements of The Land of Me, they have all been designed by development experts to support childrens' exploration and learning. If you would like any further information on how The Land of Me works in schools you can find it here.
